I was looking at this thread as I'm getting married in a little over 8 months and I'm really, really struggling :( I want to lose at least 3 stone (just to feel better in myself) and have lost half a stone already but my motivation is lacking to say the least! I keep picturing myself walking down the aisle looking lovely in my dress and then I look in the mirror and it's arrrggghhh! I feel like I am never going to get there.
I'm never, ever going to be a size 10, just to be size 16 would be great at the moment. My fiance fell in love with me as I am and tells me I'm beautiful all the time :D and I know I'm lucky to have him in my life. We want to try for a baby after we're married so I want to be healthier for that too and that alone should be motivation for me. I have no excuses - I have a wii fit and all the games etc so I should just get off my big backside and just do it. Sorry for going on but I'm glad this thread is here :)

Btw congrats to everyone on here who has lost weight :T It is no easy feat! Kmmr - you look absolutely stunning in your dress and you both look so happy together. Congratulations!!

Hey annibel (by the way, I'm Annabel)

Welcome. You sound like you have the motivation ... just need to kick start it:)

As you say ...you are beautiful now, but want to do it for yourself! You can do it!!

I am determined to do it. I've joined Slimming World and fingers crossed will have lost half a stone By tomorrow. Still got a way to go, but its a start. Am trying to think of it in managable piece rather than teh full amount - not so daunting then. :rotfl:

buts lots of advice and lovely people on this thread. :)

Thank you for that :) It cheered me up. I think I was feeling a bit sorry for myself but I need to concentrate on the positives!!
I have done an hour on the wii fit and 20 minutes of the dance game and knackered! Haven't done it for a while so pleased I started again - yay! I think your way of thinking about it bit by bit is better - I really hope you manage your goal and good luck for tomorrow!! :j

    Hello all,

Are most of you attending the likes of weight watchers, slimming world etc? Or are you able to just do it on your own? I am trying the lattetr so far, but may have to join WW to get the motivation of the weekly weigh in!
Getting married to a wonderful lady on August 10, 2012.

Need to save up, lose weight, reduce my money worries and get back to being the real me! :j

I am just doing it on my own. I joined tesco diets last year, lost some weight on it. Then realised that I could just reuse the plan without paying... Now I don't really do that, but do make the meals etc which were on the plan. I do weigh myself tho, and Mark it on the wii.

  • Im new to this tread, have been reading it for a little while, and find all your posts really helpful and inspirational!

Im getting married in 6 months and want to feel better about myself and get fitter before then, so am trying to lose 3 stone. For the last couple of months Ive been trying to eat healthily and go running regularly, but feel like Ive hit a brick wall recently as nothing seems to be changing!

Does anyone have any good methods for motivation? I find looking at unflattering pics of myself quite helpful, but not very good for the self confidence!

Well done everyone on your weight losses so far!

    Hi and welcome

I have pinned a photo of someone looking stunning in a wedding dress on my board at work. Not mine - as thats secret - but a stunning one nonetheless :rotfl: It works for me.... if I'm tempted to be naughty, I see that and think thats how I want to look. :)
