An unimportant question about lorries

Options
Just out of curiosity, I see all these massive lorries and coaches driving around and I often find myself wondering what size engines are in the things! :)

For example what size engines power these massive articulated HGVs? Five or six litre or something?

Just wondering... :D

It's the lack of indicators that I'm more interested in. And the way they assume they own the roads...
  • Full weight artics from 11 to around 16 litre, most common 12 to 13 litre.

I regularly drive a wagon with 12.2 litres, 6 cylinders...so each piston is the size of a small dinner plate...but then, it is old....
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
  • Have a 12 litre Vovo wrecker we use for our own recovery jobs in work....FH12 520bhp

Am I right in thinking the tractor units can shift when there's no trailer attached? :D

They don't own the road, but without them the whole country would grind to a halt! Isn't 80% of frieght gets transported down the HGV route?
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
