Audi A6 Le Mans 2.7 TDi at Auction?

Hi Guys!

I'm hoping to go down to BCA Belle Vue on Tuesday to pick up an Audi A6 2.7 Le Mans TDI in grey with 36.000 mileage but with margin VAT. I have 12 grand to spend and was wondering if anyone with experience in buying at auction could tell me whether this is reasonably achievable to do? I've seen dealers sell em for 14995 so I'm thinking I have a fair chance due to the car not being VAT Qualifying so dealers wont get their hands on that 20% of the car back from the old taxman. If I can't get this one I'll have to wait until the next one which is in Derby but has 60k miles on the clock and is VAT Qualifying.

What do you guys think? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The 2.7 seems a bit limp wristed in comparison to the 3.0 litre.

ah yeah. wanted the 2.7 due to its better consumption and due to the fact that I don't really need the quattro.

Good luck! I never get anywhere near these cos they make silly money!

    Clean cap is 15000 lol

It's Grade 4 which could put some of the Online buyers off, but as its a nice low mileage car then most dealers, me included will take the risk.

Ah I see. Would it be better for me to wait for the 60k mileage one that is vat qualifying? Just that I know a guy in liverpool who picked one up for 7931 and it was in black... However it had 100k mileage. I was thinking this one may be a good idea as it has margin vat so the dealer can't claim back 20% under tax return for his business. I may just go anyway to check it out and get a feel for the atmosphere etc.

Do you think you could tell me how much you would expect a black le mans with 89k mileage on the clock to go for?

Is that also known as "f*ck it, it's a company car, I don't care" condition? :D

The report says the 3.0 is cheaper to run and better for the environment

"......The 2.7TDI engine has CO2 emission figures of 225g/km and a combined fuel cycle of 33.2 mpg while the 3.0TDI engine gives emits 215g/km of CO2 and has a combined cycle of 34.9mpg........"

Hi. Not that interested in combined cycle as it will be used around town and taken on a, b roads and motorways maybe once every two months if that. I just wanted something with a bit more grunt then the 2 litre and the le mans styling insurance group is higher on the 3 litre ain't it?

Also do you mind telling me how you saw the condition of the car to be grade four? I'm assuming you need a full bca account and not a public one? Cheers!!!

I just logged in to my account and it tells me where all the scratches and chips are and that there is a stain on the back seat.

The fact that its VAT qualifying or not makes no real difference to a motor dealer to be honest.

the one the guy in iverpewl bought for £7931 - wasd it a Le Mans 2.7TDi done 38k with leather?

The 60k mileage one will be less appealing to the Audi dealers (who will be bidding on the 38k LeMans one) so I'd be tempted to look at that one.

Tho Mark Jones is normally the auctioneer at Derby and he's a right c**t and will have you bidding against yourself, the wall and the lights.

True. Though most of the cars that go thru BCA are Grade 3 to cover them selfs.

In the snow a few month ago every car was listed as Grade 5 cos they were covered in snow when they got inspected, so couldnt note anything down! We got some nice bargains. Plus some real horrors!
