Need advice on double-glazing firms (Everest, Anglian, etc)

It was good fun, the guys were more or less running around the house to get everything taken down in time! Highly recommend doing the same, I don't give a stuff about seeing samples, just give me the figures.

If you don't see the sample then you cant know what you're buying and therefore the figure quoted is meaningless.1 -

Well so far I've discovered that between Anglian, Everest and Scotia there is almost no difference between the products on offer.
Apart from styling, all three companies have their own factories where the products are made to order.
Anglian has a 16mm width between panes whilst Everest and Scotia have 20mm making them superior.

You need to DYOR about the cavity width. You need still air in the cavity and there was research on this a few decades ago. If warm air on the inside glass rises then cold air from the outside glass comes against the inside glass reducing the insulation element. There is a width of the gap below which that air circulation does not occur so you automatically get better insulation. From memory (and you need to find the original research) both gaps quoted allow circulation.0
