    You don't want to push it anywhere!
    The plastic arm that clips the freshener over the side of the pan couldn't be better designed to catch on to joints and pipe ends. Pushing the offending item will just make it more difficult to remove from a more inaccessible location further down the stack/drain.
    Unless you can get into the soil branch from outside, you need to remove it from whence it came, which means following Keystones advice and remove the WC pan to remove it..

    try using a wire coat hanger. straightened out with a small hook on the end. use some pliers.
    sometimes works and can save you a fortune.
    Get some gorm.
