Blocked toilet

one of those toilet fresheners that hang on the inside of the toilet has slipped in and been flushed by accident, I have tried to get it out ( emptied toilet of water, put hand up u bend, plungered,) but its lodged in the top part of the pipe, the housing association cant send anyone til wednesday and they are going to charge me £130 plus, couldnt give an exact cost. I really cant afford this on my wage so was wondering if anyone has any other ideas I may not have tried. If I continue to flush the toilet, will it work its way through, or is it lodged fast?
thanks
thanks

Try a thin coppedr bendy pipe down the toilet that could push it out or if you can put something on the end of it you may be able to pull it towards you.0

Toilet will have to come out and the offending article removed from the opposite direction.

Mine don't charge me for repairs. Its all included in the service charge (miniscule). Get a pair of long rubber gloves and dig it out if possible. I did that once when I was stuck.0

is it safe to push it forwards? I dont know how wide the pipe is, I know the u bend is damn small, but the soil pipe looks quite big, just worried, I cant see behind the wall to know if it narrows, and I might make it worse?Frugal living challenge 2011

I have been in with the gloves on, it seems to be sitting right where the u bend joins the soil pipe.Frugal living challenge 2011

Yes once you have emptied the cistern, isolated its water supply and disconnected it. If its a close coupled cistern then you should take it off, if its got a flush pipe then just take the flush pipe out of the back of the pan. Just to make it challenging for you on Easter Sunday ('cd there's nowhere open) I never take a CC cistern off unless I've got a new "doughnut" to hand for replacement 9/10. 5/10 with a wash down a new flushcone is needed too, londonirish wrote: »is it safe to push it forwards?
There will be a pan connector which connects the pan spigot to the soil pipe.I dont know how wide the pipe is, I know the u bend is damn small, but the soil pipe looks quite big, just worried, I cant see behind the wall to know if it narrows, and I might make it worse?
If you have more than one loo I'd just use this one for liquids until Tuesday when you can be more properly prepared.
BTW £ 130 is taking the proverbrial. You should be able to get a local plumber do do it for you for half that but if you try today or tomorrow then you'll be paying premium rates which will inflate the price.

If its gone (or been pushed) that far then taking the pan out is the only suggestion that I have short of a club hammer and a £50 loo-to-go from Bargain and Quick. Don't poke bendy metal thingys down it - all you'll do is scratch the porcelain.londonirish wrote: »I have been in with the gloves on, it seems to be sitting right where the u bend joins the soil pipe.

I think I am going to have to wait til wed when my brother can come and help me, I dont have the right bits needed to do this myself, and also I have no idea where the water stop !!!! is, neither did the woman who showed me round here when I moved in. my housing association refuse to do these repairs for free, but I just cant pay them that sort of money. looks like I am off to the pub to use their toilets lolFrugal living challenge 2011
