Myitunes account has been hacked into -3 poker games at £11.99 each, from my store credit. I only started using itunes this weekend, as I got my ipad.
I have emailed apple support, I feel really sick and worried.

Yes itunes has poor security; my wife signed up last year and her account was hacked within weeks. Spent a whole week trying to figure out how on earth it happened, before finding out in the news that they'd had a breach.
Just to be on the safe side, you should do the usual checks with Malwarebytes and Hijackthis.0 -
But did she get refunded? I have had the automated response already from itunes support, saying I'll get reply within 24 hours, but this is not the Easter present I was expecting.0

And also where her credit card details pinched aswell?0

It was the bank who spotted it (Natwest) and phoned, so they did the credit chargeback and issued a new credit card. Hopefully you'll get your money back too.
We've both used various credit cards without incident for years until she signed up for iTunes.
She won't be bothering with itunes in the future. I was glad to remove the bloated product, worse than even Realplayer used to be in the 90s.0 -
Did itunes support actually get back to people and sort it. The money came from my in-store credit, which is now left at 29p, so anything further will come from my bank account, but hopefully it wont come to that.0

well first off I would remove your credit/debit card details.
then change your itunes password.
as for itunes they have never recognised there is a problem with itunes accounts being hacked, and they will deny it at all opportunities, but if you call them up (as soon as they next are open) explain what has happened they should refund the money straight away (and I find that they will refund straight away quite telling that they know very well what is happening)
also go into 'itunes account' settings and check how many itunes computers are authorised, as it is very likely that the 'hackers' have activated their computer with your itunes account.0 -
UPDATE: went back onto my account and it showed only my computer authorised - hmmm? So checked no card details on file and changed password just in case. This morning, log on and see been refunded for the 3 downloads but had 2 others done since (only £1.79 each but not the point!)
Checked emails and, to be fair Apple did reply quickly and this is the message I received:
Greetings from iTunes Store Customer Support. My name is Satish.
I would like to inform that I checked your account and it looks like the purchase "1.5M chips" was purchased from within the application "Texas Poker" on your iPod. This is called an "in-app purchase". For information on this type of purchase, check out this article:
iTunes Store: About in-app purchases
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4009
I understand that the purchase of "Texas Poker" was unintentional. You will see a store credit of £ 35.97, plus any applicable taxes, in five to seven business days. You may need to sign out of the iTunes Store and then sign back in before you see the credit in your account.
Please note that this is a one-time exception, as the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions state that all sales are final.
Does this sound like bs?
So my response to the email went as follows:
Thank you but I still have 2 purchases of £1.79 each that I did not order and want refunded - I have never visited any Texas chips site and its all very well you saying purchases are final - I DIDN'T PURCHASE THEM.
I am sure there are many others who have been scammed by Apple in this way and I have contacted the ITV Daybreak television team about this - they are very intersted in doing a report on this, I hope we can resolve this ourselves though by the end of day tomorrow (Tuesday April 26).
Thank you,
So the story jogs on...

They really don't want to own up to it do they?
Have you done any checks to make sure it's not your computer that is being hacked as per post #2 in this thread?0 -

Just out of interest, is that a typo, or something significant. Also, do you actually have that app installed.0
