    *Hugs*

Oh dear, everyone, we are a sorry lot, aren't we?

clairewop: hope your tooth gets better soon, or at least that the dentist sorts it out.

Dorastar and crickett: get well soon.

MG: I'm not playing that game as the results would be too messy. ;) But Senior Moment, your mum, is a legend - what a way to get them to get lost! ;)

And *extra hugs* to anyone else who needs them who I have forgotten about.

UPDATE: didn't get all my work quite finished, but I can submit it in two weeks instead, so a bit more breathing space is available. I got through a phenomenal amount in two days, though. As a result I will do the bits I haven't done, spend a fair amount of time prettying it up into something I will be happy to submit given the time. And revise for the exam. Yay! :D

Just finished the "touch base" call from the Vet Student I worked with last week.

In one week, she has cracked Mind Mapping. Has discovered that she needs 249 Mind Maps of information to take her through her 4 years to her Finals and has already created 22 of them (average time is 25 minutes per Mind Map)

So she knows she needs to schedule 103 hours to cover all her work - and she is picking them off at 3 hours per weekday plus 5 hours each weekend day for the next 4-5 weeks, to getthem done so she can concentrate on revising and her practical experience.

More importantly she feels that this is possible to do and is enthusastic about her course again and rockin and rollin.

Sore back or not - days like this make everything worthwhile.

That was an early call MG.

Feeling generally bleugh though can't exactly explain why. I think it may be my age and associated probs as I have never had such a run of unsettled sleep. need to work through it though as going away on three short trips next week and have been looking forward to them so won't allow this to get me down.

Food yesterday was cereal, chicken asparagus potatoes and carrots, let down a bit by a HM scone but it was delish.

Claire, hope you get your tooth sorted out - the pain drains you and everything else seems more of a problem when you are in pain.

Loving the songs - I live mner mner too - it drives my DS mad when I sing it.

Claire - Do you have cloves in your spice and herb stash - if t[you crunch one near your tooth it will help to reduce the pain (along with ibuprofen and paracetamol if required)

Will come back to the songs as I am sure they will cheer me up.

Had a couple of days of proper job avoidance (arrgh!!!) and the V key on my keyboard is on the blink :( Taking myself kindly by the hand 'cos the jobs are not actually that bad and will put food on my table... (but planting the courgette, onions and garlic and checking on my new worm cafe were soo much more important last night!!!)

Off to bonnie Scotland (on't train I think as I can keep working) as I'm running a workshop on Sat ... woo hoo :)

    Good morning

Claire - I hope the dentist can sort you out asap

MG - That is brilliant. :T (Wonders how I could use that do finish my ACCA)

We are heading out of the door in 10 minutes. Why can't it always be morning. I feel so much better in the mornings. :j

Anyway - the bull frog for the day is to find the latest letter from the court (I have 10 min to do that) and then call them. Everything crossed that they understand the situation and postpone the day.

    Morning Matrix.

So happy with the weightloss this week! :) I am smiling ear to ear at the moment. :D I really think it is the exercise that is working wonders. I haven't really changed what I am eating yet - just fewer snacks really. But it is satisfying to see that big number reducing. And that was even with a wobble during the week! Just had breakfast of Breakfast trifle with rhubarb and Creme fraiche (because we ran out of yogurt! :D) and it was lush. Lunch is leftovers from last night's meatballs and gnocchi and dinner tonight is going to be pasta carbonara.

Right... first meeting is where I am going to have to talk around all of the issues with that costing Idid yesterday. And i have to retain my professional detatchment and not smack anyone. This could be tricky!

    Have a good day everyone!

You ACCA is question practice, and nothing else! Compare your answers to the model answer in the book. Get someone to mark it for you if you can.

Also, don't worry if your numbery answers are wrong, just concentrate on the way you got to the ansxwer. If you use the right method, you'll get follow through error marks (i.e. they can only mark it wrong once... e.g. you calculate gross profit wrong in you P&L, you'll lose a mark... but as long as you use that figure the whole way through in the right context, you'll still get 9/10!)

It's not really the knowledge that you need to master (although it helps ;)), it's the technique.... picking out the important words and the emphasis in the question. Figuring out how the marks are allocated and writing the appropriate amount, Spacing out your answers to encourage the mark to tick ;)

I mark practice papers for my old college, and they are the best tips... MAKE IT EASY FOR THE MARKER!

That's brilliant, MG! How did she figure out how many mindmaps she will need etc?

If anything has become apparent these past few days, it's that I need to mindmap the human body, but I'm not sure how to split it up as some things naturally overlap. A map of the skeleton etc. is evident, but then maps of processes (respiration, blood circulation) need doing too.

I might need to make a list. :)
