Hi
If you really want to stop junk mail use the Royal Mail opt out service for all addressed mail.
To stop flyers etc being delivered by your postman he gets paid extra to deliver these ( sorry Mr Postie !! ) get in touch with Royal Mail & fill out the form & send it back to them.
They dont like you doing this so make it a bit difficult.
Don't think you can opt out of receiving addressed mail, only the non-specific items RM deliver.0 -

you can join thr mail preference service but its not going to stop all 'junk' mail
however if you pay attention to those little tick boxes................0 -
Custardy wrote of a Royal Mail opt out service for all addressed mail (my underline) which seemed impossible - you would only receive unaddressed mail.0

You could always write "Not known at this address" and put the envelope back in a post box.0

Using mail preference service and telephone preference service I have virtually stopped all junk mail and calls. Like others i wish there was e-mail preference service.
If I get a call now it is usually connected with something I have actually asked about although I did get a call from an amblulance chaser about a car accident I had put on an online car insurance quote form recently. They wanted to know if I wished to put in a personal accident claim. When I asked for the the name of the company that had passed them my information they refused.
Sometimes I get an automated overseas call usually some bogus holiday offer. If it is UK based and an actual human being mentioning TPS usually gets rid of them pretty quickly.0 -
We have call identity on our phone plus answer machine. Most junk calls hang up immediately the answer phone kicks in. Family, friends and callers we can tell have been informed of this. We also mention TPS if we do answer0

It`s taken them 3 years to find me but Readers Digest have written to me twice since Christmas with their prize draw offer.
You need to immediately get off their lists... or you will loose money to them at some point in the future, I promise.
Call Reader's Digest Customer Services on 08003160153 or 08713511000, press option 3. Politely ask them to remove your details from all their lists. You will be asked for your postcode, house number, and surname. Done. My sanity restored.
Good luck.
