No internet connection since 9th April - router will connects for shared wireless printing etc, just no internet.
So Sky take until this Thursday to get a new router to us - it connected for a few seconds and then nothing.
They now say there's a fault on the line (also provided by Sky) and it'll be sorted in 72 hours.
Is there anything we can try meanwhile and is this worthy of a complaint?

Have you tested the line? Do you have a dial tone? Do you have noise on the line (dial 17070, select option 2, BT Quiet line test)?
Have you run these tests from the BT test socket behind the master socket split faceplate? Any wiring downstream of that is your responsibility.
You've ruled out the router. Have you tried connecting with another computer to rule out a problem with your PC?
Tried changing your ADSL filters one by one?
If using wireless, have you tried connecting with ethernet instead?
What are the diagnostic lights on the router telling you?
Remember that if OR come out to investigate and the fault is found to be on your equipment or extension wiring, then you will be charged around £130 for the call out. BT are only responsible up to and including the master socket, so it's in your interest to do the normal fault finding routines yourself first. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Macman has hit the nail on the head so unless you have some strange quirk , you could also ping the router from another network and try and ping your computer,ipconfig/all from cmd will tell you connection status and also trace route from cmd from a different network this traces the route To your sky router and where it terminates might help . Ps what os are you running0
