I don't understand this bit. Are you saying that the custom built seat makes the rear seat a four seater?

Yes it's attached with bolts and straps to the car structure, sits across the back seat and has seats and harnesses for four. It's pretty clever.

All looks quite neat and tidy...but no good if it only exists in photo's!

    From their T&C

8.2 Your order will be fulfilled by the delivery date set out in the Dispatch Confirmation or, if no delivery date is specified, then within 30 days starting with the day after you placed the order with us, unless there are exceptional circumstances or where we have agreed otherwise between us. If the actual delivery date is after such a date, or 30 days, you will be given the option of a refund or recredit to you for any sums that have been paid by you or debited from your debit or credit card for the Products

Not sure where you stand with bespoke equipment (if it is).
5.3 You will not have any right to cancel a Contract for the supply of any Products which require us to:

5.3.1 upholster seats in non-standard materials e.g. to match the interior of a particular vehicle; or

5.3.2 any other non-standard order requests which would require us to personalise or alter our standard Product in any way.

Is that car seat even legal? I think you'd need to let your insurance company know your vehicle had 6 seats rather than 5, and pay a likely extra premium for the modification, at the very least.
I'd never buy a car seat like that online, unless I saw it sold in reputable shops first, because if it's selling in reputable shops it should be alright from a safety/legal perspective. I have my doubts at the moment...

The product itself is really good. We had it demonstrated prior to buying. In fact we ended up with the ruddy demonstrator! It is legal and you do need to let your insurance company know, counts as a modification. We are pretty happy with the seat ( a few niggles but it does what it is supposed to ).

The only thing is we didn't receive ours. We've been loaned a 2nd hand one. The material/colour we ordered was a standard available choice.

How is this squared with the insurance?
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

A question I haven't seen asked here, and one that occurred to me very early is this...

In the ten months since your original order your younglings must have grown, yes?

And they are going to grow some more before you finally get your seat, yes?

So just how long will it be before they grow out of it if and when you finally get it?

Are you going to get anything like the useable lifetime out of it that you would have expected if it had been supplied within a month of the original order?

All widths will take headrest accessories and a child up to 12 years (36kg).

so it depends on the age of the OPs kids, but another factor is the OP is only going to get 12 months use from it vs 21 months they had originally though at time of ordering

Miraculously he just appeared with my new seat 3 days ago. I hadn't even sent the letter. Spooky.
