She did complain about the 'terp being provided, read the first and then this thread where she complains that having a 'terp mean that their wasn't room for her in the assessment room.

You quoted rate for language 'terps and not for BSL which is more expensive, I am not "moaning" but raising the issue that people who are to lazy to learn the language of the country in which they live are treated better than people who are born and bred in this country but are disabled through no fault of their own.

I have read both threads and also returned to the first one twice so I could be certain the OP had not complained about the provision of an interpreter, here is the passage from the initial post:
went with my dad last week for the assesment has my dad does not speak english and I was told that I could not go in with him as a interperter had been booked and there was not enough space in the room, even though we did not request an interperter and also I had taken a day off work to translate for him.

the OP's complaint is about being told they could not accompany their father
too lazy to learn the language of the country in which they live are treated better than people who are born and bred in this country but are disabled through no fault of their own

the OP's father had an arranged interview at the DWP. He did not ask for an interpreter. If you had one, a BSL interpreter would be arranged, you said, and the DWP says.

    You said
as the OP's dad did choose to move here and also chose not to learn to speak English for over four decades and then complains that a 'terp was booked for his WCA assessment at the cost of @£200 ph when deaf people cant get any help for medcial appointments etc.

You said the OP's interpreter would have cost 200 pounds per hour.
So I checked the rates for that kind of interpreter. They are massively less.

They're no where near that figure, my Mum's an interpreter both over the phone and face-to-face. The figure of £200 is ludicrous and anyone that quotes it has no idea what they're talking about.

Your correct the OP's only gripe was that they were using the interpreter as a reason to not allow her to accompany her father.

The true test of integration is the next generation, Chinna's english is good enough to interpret for her Father so I would imagine she has integrated well. I also think its disgusting to attack someone out of the blue for something she had no power over, Chinna's Father didn't learn english but what is she supposed to do about it? (it seems naturally assuming the responsibility to interprete for them isn't good enough).

It was malicious, nasty and achieved nothing so I can't understand it, especially as the OP made a positive post in which she stated she wanted to give something back to the forum.
dad/mum have never bothered to intigrate into the country that they have lived for decades but it expected to provide terps for them yet not for British people who cant comunicate due to disability.

If Chinna is interpreting for them how are they expecting an interpreter to be provided? What makes you think Chinna's parents have any control over Government policy towards interpreters for the disabled?

I can't make heads or tales of your unprovoked attack, just seems like irrational hatred to me because your envious of the support the British Government provides to them and not the disabled. Incidentally they have no control over how these funds are allocated whatsoever, if your serious contact someone that can do something about it instead of impotently attacking random people on forums!

Your normally a positive influence in this section.:(

Like I said in the orginal thread, my dad regrets not learning it and was never capable of learning it. I think also it was the governments fault for not making it known that they needed to learn it.

I will be back to continue this with you once I have sorted the appeal out.

    The Government's fault???

Since when does it take the Government to say 'hey you have moved to a foreign country where the language is different, so if you don't learn the language you will be at a severe disadvantage'?

I sympathise with your father to a certain extent as despite living in Spain for several years, my Spanish is still not very good and I would need an interpreter for medical things (who I would provide myself), but I certainly don't think it's the Spanish Government's resonsibility to tell me that I would manage a lot better if I managed to speak their language!

A bit of common sense is all that is needed, surely, to understand that?

And I have last week issued a CPR Part 8 Writ citing ATOS, their HCP & DWP as the Joint Defendants in an Action. I have carried this out through my local County Court who were very helpful in arranging everything.

I just can't wait to see what their defence is.

And even better, my day in court and I am intending to invite the press and television to be involved in it (with the Judge's permission obviously)!!!!

    Hi Dio,

    You get in there...
I've done a S!*t load of research on ATOS & the DWP...it's amazing what dirt you can 'Dig Up' on these people.
Put it this way, it would not trust either with a corpse let alone benefit!!

I've already won the Gross Maladministration against the PDCS & they offered me a 'Special Payment' however, i told them where to stick it!!
For me, it was not about the money, it was about the truth!

As for the tribunal, just waiting for a hearing date & i have enough evidence against them to sink a battle ship!

Good luck with all you are involved in & please let me know what happens?
