You will need a username and password from your new ISP to use with your existing router.
Better still use the router supplied by the new ISP.

give us a clue ... who is the new boardband supplier?:o0

Pop 192.168.0.1 into the address bar of your browser. Use admin:admin as the username and password. Start up the wizard and call your ISP for the settings.0

The model of D-Link would help?
Apart from username and password, the only other settings are usually something like this (these are for TT, but all ISP's in the UK should be similar).
- Username: Your telephone number@talktalk.net, for example 02079460009@talktalk.net*
- Password: Your TalkTalk broadband password*
- VPI: 0
- VCI: 38
- MTU: 1432
- DNS settings: Set to obtain automatically (or equivalent)
- Encapsulation: PPP over ATM (PPPoA) using VC-MUX
- Modulation Type: Auto
Your ISP can give you their standard settings, these should work with any ADSL modem/router.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks all. I've now been given ISP info, but where do I type this stuff in?
New provider have also given me a CD, do I just run that now or do I have to wait until the date they have given me to swap over. I don;t want to loose conection.
New providor BT.0 -
You wait until the date of your switchover, the downtime at the exchange is usually no more than a couple of hours.
stilltheone has already advised you how to access your router interface.
If it's BT they will normally supply a Homehub with a new contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Bt are not supplying home hub free of charge and I didn;t want to pay for a new once since I had to buy a new one two months ago - all BT then said was i needed to changed my hub settings - not got a clue!
Thanks for help.0 -
Why no FOC Homehub, did you upset BT in some way? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

This makes no sense at all-so why don't you use your existing HH?
You said that you are currently changing ISP's from ?? to BT, so why did you have to buy a HH 2 months ago?
The HH is locked to BT and cannot be used on another ISP without firmware flashing. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
No sense at all this is making. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
