New Customer - To take Virgin Deal or Sky?

Hello All,
I have just been on the phone to both Virgin and Sky to find out their best price for the following:
TV [Basic/Medium]
Broadband [Large/Unlimited]
Phone [Wkends]
Sky Sports 1 and 2 minimum.
I should point out that i stopped having virgin BB and phone last year due to the expense, instead i got a 3 Dongle for £10 a mnth but my boyfriend is moving in now...
Virgin has come in at £55.49 with free HD box, insurance and install. Also, you have the option to upgrade/downgrade whenever.
Sky has come in at £58.50, reduced to £51 a month for the first three months. Also, they're throwing in a sky+ box for "free" and reduced the fitting to £10 for the line and £30 for the installation.
Now, this is primarily for my boyfriend's benefit rather than mine, as i'm a sports widow, but i want to make sure we get a good deal.
I'm tempted by Sky, but having never been with them before wanted to get info on whether the price is really a good deal? The Sky lady is ringing me back betwen 6-7pm so want to make sure I know what i'm on about etc, to see if I can get any more deals/money off.
Many thanks,

double check the virgin deal against their website as it has been known for their sales reps to give an introductory offer and then for the costs to spiralCambridgeshire Based Photographer

Depends what you value, with sky you get a recordable box but with virgin you have superior on demand (you dont get an HD box free i'm afriad, its HD ready which means you can pay later if you want the HD turned on.
With virgin broadband you will get around 9.5Meg. Have you checked with sky to see what speed they can offer you?0
