Hi, it might be a totally different thing but the other day I downloaded a program and my phone got stuck in a loop where it would switch to standby, come back on , get so far and shutdown again. I eventually realised that it was an update loop and each time it tried to access the internet it would shutdown .By removing the sim and switching off my router to stop it accessing the internet stopped it looping so it could come on and I could remove the program.

    Remove battery then retry .

Or factory reset if available on that phone .

Considering you have tried rooting your phone and were unseccessful, there is a high chance that your phone is bricked yes. I am really sorry.

By trying to root it, you have also voided your warranty so you will not be able to get it replaced.

Thats why i would not recommend rooting android as you don't get much out of it anyway

Rooting only gives you admin rights .
Unusual for it to be a problem unless something went wrong .

As to the warranty technically void but i would take it back anyway as the service centre probably wont notice anyway .

Androids are renowned for being recoverable from a brick usually by flashing a stock firmware .

No idea what your brand of phone is or is based upon but XDA forums probably the best source of information .
