chocclaire, I like to think DH and I eat well and cook well and know a bt about food. Nothing premade comes in here, we get to eat at fantastic, well known restaurants...and dh still loves a fishfinger sandwich. Good sourdough bread, decent mayonnaise - HM is worth it for the simple tastes here, a squeeze of fresh lemon, lots of herby salad...lettuce, perhaps flat leaf parsely, salted and peppered tomatoes. They are a dirty little secret here, we'd never serve to friends or family, but they are good if done well! (we have them the morning we got married too!)0

Fish fingers, tin of chopped tomatoes over the top and grate some cheese over this. Bung in the oven and let it cook. Used to do this as a simple supper dish served with green veg, or for main course with spuds.0

My first choice would be fish finger sarnies
But you could cook a couple of them and use them as croutons in a pea and mint soup (saw this in a receipe book) - tried it and was really nice!At least the fish fingers are still frozen, that's what I keep telling myself (Truly Madly Deeply)0 -
Cook them until nearly done, then break them up and mix with herbs and mash/egg to bind and turn into fish cakes, they'll just need to be fried/grilled long enough to crisp up the outside. You could add the spices listed in a thai fish cake recipe and serve with a nice dip and DH doesn't need to know
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
fish finger sarnie is the only way to go - but ya know they go in the freezer the poor sod dosen't have to eat them all at once
People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
