Query about supplying documents

Hi,

I have applied to The Utility Warehouse as recommended by a friend - I'm not yet on the electoral roll - landlord at the time didn't think to put me on when he got the form and I assumed I was on.

The Utility Warehouse say that as I'm not on the electoral roll I have to provide council tax bill and credit card statement - now my landlord pays council tax as part of my rent and I do not have a credit card :j and they seem to be saying over the phone they will not accept anything else - their t&c's say to provide satisfactory evidence of proof of address, now I can supply bank statements, wage slips, other utility bills and driving licence - shoudl I write with this evidence or am I wasting my time?

Thanks Simon

There is a thread on GIOL board: Proving to a Bookmaker who you are - ID & Certification. However, bookies normally accept electronic copies.

I don't understand why Utility Warehouse insist in a credit card bill and a council tax bill.
I don't see why a [STRIKE]debit card[/STRIKE] current account statement is worse than a credit card bill. Also, normally only one person in the household receives a council tax bill. What other members of the family are supposed to provide? I think any utility bill (except, probably, a mobile one) has to do the job.

Send them the copies of every proof you have and hope that somebody more intelligent will deal with the copies than some idiot from the telephone helpline.

I meant a current account statement.

Such thing like a 'debit card statement' doesn't exist.
