fiskars lawn weed puller

hi i was tempted by the ad for the new weed puller from fiskars as my garden was destroyed with dandelions when i checked online it was on average £30 but Focus had it advertised at £26.42 i called in to my local store today (21st April) at Linwood near Paisley and they had the puller on show at £26.42 but over beside the other hand tools there was a label which stated 25% off all Fiskars hand tools between 15th and 25th April price was not discounted at check out chap who checked it told me it had been discounted from £32 + and as such the discount had been applied,i then pointed out that the sign read "discount would be applied on marked price" and as the marked price was £26.42 then the 25% should apply he grudgingly agreed and the discount was applied to take it to £19.82 don't know if they will have removed original sign but worth checking it out as the weed puller is clever piece of kit and cleared the garden in about 10-15 minutes with no real effort

Does anyone know if this tool is suitable for using between paving slabs or is it just for weeds in lawns?

  • Bought one today from Focus (thanks OP) after a little bit of pointing out the small print - I was very popular on a busy Good Friday! Anyway, this is a fantastic gadget: well-built and does exactly what it says on the tin. But...I don't think it would work on a path as the spikes dig into the lawn and then, as you tilt it backwards, grasps the roots of the weeds.

this tool is fantastic...B&Q priced matched focus for my mum then took the difference off again. It is an awesome tool...so easy to use.

It wouldn't work on paths (I have a gas weed burner for those) as they have spikey things at the bottom that need to in soil.

Shame its s pricey but you are buying "fiskars"

Fiskars has just copied Grandpa's weeder which has been sold on QVC for years.

I know the price will work out roughly the same, but if you buy off QVC there's an easi-pay code that means you can pay in three installments (EASTER), you can also get 5% cashback via quidco. Saves having to pay the whole amount at once. ;)

I have Granpa's weeder from QVC and it is brilliant. However the Fiskar advertised is more expensive but appears to have one advantage...it has an eject mechanism for the weeds collected from the lawn.

    HTH.

I visited Homebase today and the 25% off was for cutting tools only, shame but it is still cheaper than most places at £25.99

Looking at that... Fiskars looks much better than the QVC one!
