What is the current cheapest deal for broadband with phone?
I only want the broadband (have mobile so won't be using the phone at all) but I know you can;t get broadband without phone.
So I just want the absolute cheapest deal there is. At the moment I can't find anything less than about 20 odd pounds a month. It seems barmy that I have to pay so much for line rental when I don't even want the phone.

if you have a BT line, they were doing 'springdeal' b/b from £13/month, with 1st 3 months free, and a £25 amazon voucher-

go via topcashback, get £50 or so on top!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
Tesco Broadband looks quite good £18 per month (averaged) over 18 months for unlimited broadband, evening and weekend calls.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

If you were in a a cabled area VM BB starts at 10Mb L for £21 a month without a phone or £26.49 with!0 -
There is national 'cheapest deal', because broadband is exchange specific. Go to samknows.com and do an exchange search for your LLU options, one of those will be the cheapest for you.
Whether you make any calls or not, the line rental is to cover the cost of maintaining the line network that carries your broadband signal. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Yes it seems that prices are all different.
The BT deal would seem the cheapest but they want an 18 month commitment.0 -
I doubt very much that BT is cheapest, they are invariably among the most expensive. What are your LLU options?
If no LLU providers, you could look at Plusnet for a non-LLU service. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Plusnet worth a look with their 3 month free deal if you get someone to refer you and contract can either be no contract if you buy router rather than free one , shorter contract if if you take 12 month option than many llu providers too so easier to move if it goes bad - unlike some .:)0

Noticed this on HUKD earlier. Don't know if it helps but worth a look and don't forget topcashback or quidco.
Sign up for 12 months line rental at £11.99 per month with free evening and weekend calls (or add £3.50 for anytime) and get the value broadband service free for 12 months (worth £6.49 a month).
Free activation and wireless router (£4.99 p&p)
Sign up via https://www.plus.net/bundleoffer and enter promo code 'bargain' at the payment stage.0 -

I am not sure what LLU is but I think I can get it where I am. Will an LLU provider be cheaper than Plusnet?
googling LLU now but it looks all greek to me.0 -
Local Loop Unbundled. Post your samknows results (your LLU options) and further advice can be given. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
