We dont need the BBC, let it go private and see if they survive paying their current crop of washed up loser insane wages to provide terrible tv.
Also, where do the BBC find their question time audiences? They are always so left wing that I wonder if they pop round to the local union office and bring a load of them in, or perhaps they go to the job centre and get a load of the scrongers to come in and cheer for labour because they know they will give them a high wage just to sit around all day for 40 yrs of "working" age.

I like no having adverts. I'd support a BBC funded by PPV or PPlisten, if it were feasable.
Overall, I'm divided on the issue. The BBC does squander a lot of money, but I don't like Murdoch controlling what's on the set either.
I fully appreciate the question time comment. The audience often make ninky look right-wing.0 -
Errr, this does not compute.
Scrap the BBC and Joe Public has to spend the money on a suitable replacement. They are not going to think "hang on I've just saved a wad of money, I'll go and give it to the government to reduce the deficit".
Claim that the BBC is not worth the license fee if you wish, but it's got nothing to do with deficit reduction.0 -
I think the BBC does far too much these days, a lot of it to try and justify it's existence.
Wouldn't want to see it scrapped at all, but pretty sure it could be cut in half without anyone noticing too much difference - what I mean is, there'd still be more than enough content and media output at that level.0 -
I'm fed up of paying the license fee to watch reruns. I think many others are too.0

Scrap the BBC and you lose the justification for licence fee.
Actually, sod it. I don't pay the licence fee anyway.Said Aristippus, “If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.”
Said Diogenes, “Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.”0 -

It's not just the BBC: it's time to pull the plug on broadcast TV as a whole.
In this day and age we should have fibre to the home (FTTH) offering gigabit ethernet speeds that can provide instantaneous video on demand on a pay per view basis.
The television licence fee is a disgracefully regressive tax. We hardly watch the TV. I haven't turned it on for a few days, so we don't get value for money. For the poorest British households, the fee is a heavy financial burden.
I worked out that the £7m BBC salary paid just to Jonathan Ross is so vast that it swallows up all the licence fees paid by every household in the city of Wolverhampton!
As for the Question Time audiences, they are phony.
In common with Any Questions on BBCR4, there is a local contingent to the audience, but most of grunts are regulars who get invited repeatedly by the BBC to attend.
One Fabian Society twit was boasting on a public forum how he gets paid a generous allowance by the BBC to travel across the country to pose pre-arranged questions to the esteemed panelists.
Like much of the BBC current affairs programming, Question Time is a propaganda sham.0 -

Agree with this. I would happily not pay my license fee and get all bbc channels removed from my tv.
Its a joke you have to pay it to own a tv. I already pay sky for the right to watch their channels.
The BBC are a joke, I hate the way everyone there gets a job for life too. It would never be that way elsewhere. When people dont look good anymore there should be shipped out of the company.I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j0 -

unlike b blank who makes cameron look like trotsky.
yes bring it on. scrap the bbc and every other bit of public service / sector in this country. remove collective bargaining power and any sort of employment rights. stop all benefits. hand all power to capital.
that's the quickest most surefire way to guarantee a revolution and have the likes of b blank up against the wall. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

I am actually for the working man. The benefits crowd couldnt organise a revolution Ninky. They cant even organise themselves to turn up at the job centre in time most days.
I believe in employment rights. I dont beleive in an equal society though. People who succeed should be rewarded. People who arent as clever/hard working should get less. They cant accept it though, and they want all these child tax credits to let them go to spain every year. Its pathetic, they should cut their cloth accordingly. Its not my fault they arent clever enough to get a decent job.I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j0 -

if you think cleverness is the main factor in getting people decent jobs then you aren't very clever.
there's no correlation between iq and success.
