Had the car tax renewal through, and went to do it online, only to notice it's £10 dearer!

Does this happen to everyone?

£10 seems a hefty p & p charge.

it does state on the reminder/renewal that the price is only valid as of printing and may change due to a budget

Couple of years back I taxed the car online as soon as the new figures were released in the news.

I already had the reminder and it was going up the next day so i thought i would try my luck. It worked
even though it was bordeline on how early i could tax the car.

Was about to renew mine on line when I spotted this too.

So what would happen if I send it off by post with £155 and the £155 box ticked? Will they bother to write back and demand another £10?

    Yes!

My tax has gone up extra £5/year.
  • Cant remember the last time the figure on the reminder matched the actual price, always seems to go up by a fiver or so.

I cross check my renewal application against the companies up to date online quote every year, and almost every year there is a discrepancy sometimes one way and sometimes the other. Go for the cheapest option of course, ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

This thread is about car tax, you appear to be talking about car insurance.

So has it just gone up, or is it an EXTRA £10 to renew online?
