Online Phone Contract - Cashback/Redeptions?

Hi,

My O2 contract on my iPhone is coming up in the middle of next month and I'm just reviewing my options but a little confused as it's been 18 months since I last looked at this stuff.

I really fancy a HTC android based device - either the HTC Desire HD or the HTC Incredible S. But the deals that come up are a range of cashback, redemption and others that seem good but say nothing. The packages I'm looking at are roughly 300mins, 500+ texts and 500mb internet or more for about £30 a month and a mobile one-off cost of less than £100.

I don't want the hassle (and risk looking at reviews) of going down the retentions route, but I was wondering are the deals which don't specify this just straight-up mobile contracts with the website essentially being brokers for the networks? Or am I making a contract with the website as well? Are they trustworthy too? There are many, many bad reviews for all I've seen so far!

Example of the above here;

Or would I simply be worth waiting until the new HTC Sensation comes out? I assume if I do nothing about my contract minimum term ending it goes onto a rolling month-by-month contract with O2?

Any help and advice would be much appreciated!

    The airtime contract is with the network. The handset contract is with the retailer.

    Yes, you'll have to give one month notice to cancel it.

    Had a closer look at the HTC Sensation and may wait; built on the looks of the Desire HD but with a better chip and other nice bits. Plus there's no loss if the contract rolls over monthly and gives me time to save some cash for it a bit too.

    Thanks for the help grumbler.
