Vodafone Compensation Enquiry?

Hello Everyone,

I have finally received - £92 from Vodafone on the 18/4/2011,

I took up a contract with Vodafone in October, and came to the decision I could not afford it. I rang up within the seven day period allowed to cancel the contract without charge and they promised to send out a courier to come and collect the phone and that never arrived they then promised to send me out a giffy bag to post it back to them and told me it would take two weeks to arrive "all the time I had not used the phone, but was still be charged £30 each month for it"

Long story short it was not till end of feb beginning of march, I was finally able to return the phone after numerous promises by Vodafone to send me details of how and where I was to return the phone... and they refunded me all charges contract wise... totalling around the £115 mark.

During this time I racked up £70 in bank charges because of Vodafone failing to cancel the contract - so I rang them up they promised to send me the £70 back... It has taken them over 60 working days not just 60 days but 60 working days to eventually give me the £70 + an extra £30... and in the end It caused me more financial strain because I was waiting for this money to come through..

Do you think I could be compensated any more for the bother they've caused me.

Firstly it was not only they who caused you the bother.
You have done the same to them.
I'd be happy with £30 and next time I'd just cancel the DD after cancelling the contract or claim the money and the charges back from my bank under the DD guarantee.
Another lesson to be learned is to think 5 times, not even twice, before starting any business with Vodafone.

Why the hate against Vodafone on this forum?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

Just search for 'vodafone' and you will see.

Nothing personal. I am with Orange.
