BB & Phone Renewal should I stay with BT or go to O2 or Sky what are your experiences

Options
Contract expired Monday 18/4 so did our discount as we received BB option 1 and free eve & weekend calls plus line rental for £21.50 pm for last 2 years and have had a pretty faultless service. £257 per year approx

The best BT can do now is £18.90 p month and we get all the above minus the free evening calls just free weekend calls. Having to be frugal I thought this was a good price but I have also noticed that my mobile provider O2 would work out at £144 per year for the same service and limits, I would get 3 months free however for being a customer but I have no experience of them as a BB or home phone provider and worry what the service may be like?
They also have some stiff connection charges of 12.8p if you make daytime calls or calls to mobiles 0870 etc on tp of the normal call charge. hmmm

I looked at Sky as they now accept you as a non tv subscriber, the cost works out at £11.25 line rental and no charge for taking Free evening and weekend which gives you a £5 discount off either of the 2 BB packages so lite would be free and unlimited would be £7.50 pm instead of £12.50 pm, they also charge you £2.50 for not taking a TV package, however first 3 months are £8.75 as there is a discount of 3 months free BB. total £215 approx year.

My monthly download averages 5-6 gb so whats good on some is not on others, has anyone had any problems moving to either of above or the service received by them??

Just looking for some advice really not sure what to do for the best :)

It appears you are looking for the cheapest Landline + broadband provider and you don't have a large broadband usage.

The cheapest (I think) are Talk Talk and Plusnet (google them).

If you have your landline with anyone other than Bt then it's usually always £10+ just for line rental and they may give you weekend calls and maybe evening calls too.

What takes priority as most important the broadband or phone?
