The router key is a 10 digit un-guessable mess. My plan allows 40Gb and I am now on 35Gb. I will have to ask the kids. They did mention that every subsequent month will be charged at £5 per 5Gb. My son once showed me from his Windows 7 laptop that there was someone log on to our router that he did not recognize. I cannot, however, do the same from my XP laptop. Does anyone know how to do that on my XP laptop?
So that's 1.75Gb per day so far. That's about 3 hours of bandwidth intensive browsing (@10Mb per minute) per day. I mean iPlayer, YouTube and the like. If you don't recognize anyone on the router you can block them using the access control lists that the BT router has.

Try this screen...not sure if it'll work you'll need to log into the router http://192.168.1.254/parent.lp?be=0&l0=2&l1=3&l2=-1 It'll list everyone who's ever connected. Block the ones you don't know but be aware it's probably the printer or the Xbox or even the Iphone/smartphone that you are blocking if you have any other network devices.

You need to make sure at least for the rest of the month that internet time is cut right down if you wish to avoid charges.

    Seconded the youtube statement

I can burn less than 1gb in a day watching youtube videos on mobile broadband and that's not even trying.

Most youtube videos @360p at a guess around 20mb per minute, so you're limited to 50 videos on a 10gb policy and that's easy

My monthly usage on Option 3 broadband was something like 100gb+ lol

Unless you use torrents or download a real crapload BT don't seem to be that bothered. I'd look more into what plan you are on providing your wireless is secured.

Log on to the router and see which clients are there check on Local and Wireless ... it is probably under ARP/RARP. However this is a concern

That's the good thing about the BT Access Control screen. It lists everything since the router was reset.
