Vodafone sure signal - advice needed
hi all
i live in a 2g area and phone signal is really poor from all networks
i assume this will work in a 2g area just need 3g turned on, on the phone?
i am thinking of moving to Vodafone for the sure signal box is this any good?
i understand i will need a 3g phone so am thinking of getting the Nokia c2-01?
will it work with any router i have the netgear dg834g v3 , is it easy to set up?
i have an ip profile of 3.5mb i see it says you need 1mb
when connected and in use would this have any affect on lag when i am on my xbox 360, also would there be any slowdown when using the net and sure signal at the same time ?
many thanks

It should be a case of register it on the Voda website then plug in and go.
But ... I found I did need to configure my router too (Draytek). A quick Google of 'suresignal netgear' does show a lot of guides to setting up the router ... so you may well find the same. If you or a friend understand the terms 'static ip' and 'port forwarding' you'll be able to get it setup. Failing that Vodafone may offer advice, I just found it easier to do it myself.
When up and running you do get a full 3g signal inside the house and internet speeds seem normal.0 -
The vodafone website mentions nothing about setting up the router , on chat they told me you just need to plug it in and away you go , i am not to tech savy , thanks 4 your reply

That's how it should work and having thought about it a friend of mine has it working fine with a DG834 that I setup - no changes to the router at all. I very much doubt everyone has problems with them. I can only suggest you get one and let Vodafone assist if it doesn't.
I obtained mine from ebay so never really expected any assistance or comeback.0 -
I couldnt get it to work on my Netgear router was just stuck on the power light. It might even be your ISP that is blocking port forwarding that stops it working.0
