the gas meter says m3
how do i find if this is what im billed for.
This should match what's on the bill. Also the gas meter squeaks as it turns (is this just age?)
It could be, you would be contacted if this needs replacing.are eon providing smart meters yet?
We are trialling smart meters, but these are not offered to customers as yet.can we have the meter moved outside so it can be read regular?
You would need to contact your meter operator about this, but from previous experience this could be costly.

Hi toothe - You have now established the meter is marked M3
The quick way to check that you are being charged for a Metric meter and not an Imperial model, is to look at the bill and divide the number meter units into the number of Kwh charged - If the answer is appx 11 you are being correctly charged for a metric meter, but if it is appx 31 you are being charged on the basis of you having an Imperial meter and should contact your supplier immediately0 -
seems i am being billed for metric.
I'm going to submit another reading tonight. and see if it generates a huge bill.
since the bill, heating hasnt been on, gas only used for water and hobs. and cool showers... i am pretty sure that its wrong, i have used more gas in the last 12 months than the previous 2 years...:T0 -

I've been trying to work out what the difference is between the tariffs, specifically 4 (which I am on) and 6 - and I can't see any.
I called up this morning and was told, although on paper I am on 4, I am actually on 6 - which is a fixed rate!! In fact, 1,2,3,4, are all on 6!!!! Same rate, same discount - what's the point of having all these tariffs, confusion tactics?
On 4 you don't get clubcard points, but I found it difficult to get out of him which tariff does.
Some clarification would be good please????0 -

Hi murphydog999,
I think there is some confusion here and I think the agent you have spoken to has added to this, so I'm sorry about that.
We do offer a SaveOnline tariff, the moment the newest version of this tariff is SaveOnline 6. This is not a fixed tariff the unit prices can go up or down if we have a price change.
The difference between version 5 and 6 is the end date for 6 is longer.
The discounts have also changed through the different versions.
We have also offered a tariff called FixOnline, again there have been different versions of this and we don't currently offer a FixOnline tariff to change on to.
Do you have an online account?
What does it say we are billing you on, on your bill?
SaveOnline 4 ends on 15 Janurary 2012 and SaveOnline 6 ends on 1 June 2012.

Thanks Helena, paperwork, bills, online etc all say I am on save online 4, but I was categorically told yesterday I was on 6. Is the end date the only difference between the two?0

Hi murphydog999,
I do know of a problem online where we were showing one tariff version incorrectly, but this was only online.
Do you want me to check for you?
Just send me your account number to the email address in my profile page.

Eon have been very poor and I am glad to be leaving them. The customer service is like talking to a wall.
We changed to them for duel fuel and despite numerous phone calls could not seem to get payment set up for the direct debit. We had gas with them for years and finally went to both. 6 months down the line no payments still taken for the electric. We now have a bill for all of this which we have to pay off - but if the chuffing useless staff had actually done what they said they had done each time we called !!!
Eon hang your heads in shame!! Customer service very poor indeed0
