It is by no means strange for one brush to be longer than the other. All it requires is for one brush holder to be slightly tighter or have a build up of carbon dust. Then one brush will stick and the other will wear down, until the sticky one no longer reaches the commutator of the motor. Glad you managed to fix the problem OPI can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
re the brushes, aye anything is is possible.
its possible gordon brown will be re-elected as PM, but most unlikely.Lifes_Grand_Plan wrote: »Hi guys, following a fantastic youtube video the other day, took the motor out of the machine and took the brushes off... they looked ok, but a new set was £10 on ebay so ordered some anyway...
They just arrived today so fitted them and low and behold it only bleedin worked.... when I looked back at the old brushes, one was much longer than the other... must have worn unevenly for some reason.... very strange...
Anyway i'm now very happy, £400+ saved for the sake of a bit of elbow grease and a £10 part....
BTW the video I used was on this link, just scroll down

Oh dear now we could be in trouble
Glad you sorted your problem MSE way !0 -
Unless you run the machine 5 times a day plus, there is no way the brushes should wear out in 2 years!
I have an ancient Bosch, and the brushes on that expired last year after just over 10 years, and it's probably used 4 times a week.
2 year brush life says all you need to know about the Beko brand I' afraid. No free lunch, and no free laptop
