Help with Android OS/Sony Arc

Hi,

I've just got a Sony Arc. At the moment I'm using an iPhone 4 and that seems a whole lot simpler in comparision. It just seems very very time consuming to set up and use!

At the moment, all I want is the timescape thing away from the homescreen, and to have one homescreen, not five different pages. Is this possible? I also managed to remove all the free game demo's from the phone and now theres loads of empty spaces where they would have been, how do I move things across?

I like my phone to have order, and with the iPhone it does that. It has the folders, drag and drop the apps where you want. One homescreen that you slide and the phone is then on your apps.
Does it get any easier than this? Because it's starting to annoy me already after a day!

If its anything like the HTC wildfire, icons and widgets can be moved by holding your finger over an icon till it turns red (in the case of the wildfire)) and then dragging it to another area on the same screen OR dragging it to the edge of the screen so the next screen (to the left or right) appears - lift finger to drop the icon.

Hey, I've been looking at getting this phone and from one very thorough review I read it sounds like a really good phone, though I anticipate a few teething problems. I understand that the Timescape app is useless and slows the whole phone down adn eats the battery, and I've read in the same long review that it's best to just remove it altogether. Not exactly help with your current problem, but it might be beneficial to your stress levels!

Like I say, I'm looking at getting this phone (when ANYWHERE I can go through TopCashBack decides to get stock in!), and it will be my first smartphone. Wouild you mind letting me know what you think after a couple of days? PM me. Cheers :)

First thing is you got to stop thinking the 'Apple' way android doesn't
hold your hand like Apple does, it allow more freedom.

On my android i got 5 Homescreens
Main - Clock Widget with Google serach bar and shorcuts to dialer, sms, gmail & sat nav
left - usefull apps that i need quick access to such as calculator, camera, google maps, flashlight, pktebay
left left - I have a calender widget which displays my upcoming appointments
right - is my games screen with shorcuts to my fave games
right right - my music player widget

Just take your time and play with it, just dont lose your head after one day just because it does things different to the iphone.

Maybe some former iphone users who now use android can give you some pointers

you just gotta get used to it, and if you don't wanna use the 5 home screens then dont, just dont scroll between them. but it does come in handy using them, just takes a while to get used to it

also to move the app just hold it down and then move
