BT or not BT? That is the question

I had an old contract with BT for phone and broadband but it was very expensive. When I called them and said I was going to change to another provider they offered me £10 line rental (year in advance) plus anytime calls and level 3 broadband for £13 for 12 months - I know there are probably cheaper deals but I have been happy with my BT service, just not the price. The man I spoke to was really helpful, went through it all and the new deal was effective immediately. Plus because I had already paid a quarter's line rental in advance my bill will be pretty low for a few months.

That looks like a good deal! I am paying 14.35 for the same without broadband:( Good for you!

    Hi,
sorry to revive an old thread but I was searching the forum for the answer to the original OP question and would be interested to know. Am exactly in the same situation, and would like to switch to a O2 line rental at £7.50 (I make one or 2 phone call max per month), but being also on their old fully unlimited broadband package I don't want to loose this if they force me to switch to one of their new broadband packages (not truly unlimited) if I take on their phone line...
    Anyone knows?
    Thanks
  • I too was on the brink of joining o2 for their home phone as i have had their broadband for years with no hassles. my contract with bt runs out in january so i rang to see how much of a cancelation fee they would charge me. low and behold they matched the o2 offer (well.. 25p off) i have line rental and free evening and weekend calls for £9.75.. the options are all yours..
