Help With Choosing Vid Conversion Software.

Hi.

Can anyone recommend a good HD camera conversion software?

I've just purchased the JVC Everio with Ccd sensor, a great little lightweight point and shoot pocket sized hd camera so far.

I didn't realize before purchasing it that it writes vids in .MOD format. Although renaming the file to mpg will play in WMP, i'd like to be able to reduce the file-size and convert to .AVI so uploading to the Tube or FB is possible.

AVS looks pretty good and does support .MOD extensions but seems a little pricey to EU Customers.

Any recommendations are greatly welcomed

Thanks for the link. MC looks just like what i'm looking for. I tried to download from all three Mirrors here. Unfortunately all three didnt have the requested file.

Do you know of anywhere it can be downloaded?

32bit.

I clicked the 32bit option after checking my system first.

Thanks to all for the replies and advice, went with MediaCoder as its pretty easy to understand and does exactly the job i was hoping for.

That's what i like about this forum, not only do you save money but you also learn something new everyday. Atm, I'm using Windows Movie Maker but looking out for a recommended editing suite if anyone had any idea's....... ?
