Agree that you'd get a Vanquis no problem - I have both and can't wait to get rid of it :rotfl:- but I'm not decrying the fact that its a credit builder and should be used as such

why is it the harder one to get, out of interest

its underwritten by halifax, their acceptance isnt as easy as the other subprime
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Would stay clear from Vanquis wasn't overly impressed with Internet banking / steep phone banking got rid of in two months when had it, needless to say Capital One is fab in my opinion particulary for IB
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

You say he's had a Capital One card in the past - that might be significant. Did he default with Capital One previously? They might be hesitant to take him on as a customer again if there's a negative history there... Vanquis is easier in any case

I had a defaulted capital one account and they gave me another card no problem (I assume once they have flogged the debt off to a DC they stop caring?)........ it was only after I had the second capital one account for a couple of months that vanquis would accept me.

Having said that I'm stuck with an £800 limit with crapone and £250 on the vanquis.

He'll get a Vanqswiz card if he has a pulse, they have even started taking on ... those who have chosen cryogenic suspension.
Is that because they'd not become bad customers?
