Euros or swiss francs?

I'm going on holiday to Switzerland next month for a week. I understand that most shops accept either Euros or francs. So which will I get more out of? I also have a debit card from HSBC, is it worth using that instead?

See http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/overseas-card-charges - your HSBC Debit Card would carry an FX loading of 2.75% for POS transactions & 2.75% + 2% (min £1.75 max £5) for cash withdrawals....I also have a debit card from HSBC, is it worth using that instead?0 -
Although shops in highly tourist areas may take Euros many of the smaller towns will not.
Everything will be priced in SFR so you know what you are spending, if you take € you'll be at the mercy of the shop/restauarant/hotel etc. to set a fair exchange rate.
If you're just planning on staying in the city and already have euros then use them, otherwise take SFR.
Oh, and enjoy your trip, it a beautiful country.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Thanks peachy and baldur. I think I'll stick with francs then as the plan is to travel about the country a bit, rather than stay in the cities.
Looking forward to my trip, a friend went to live there a few years ago and raves about it!:DDec GC; £208.79/£220
