Tesco mobile tarrif deals clarification before i transfer my number please
ok tesco is offering a top up by £10, Receive £30 Credit. i was then looking into the bundle deals available on PAYG and seen the table below:
Calls 25 .........25 minutes .....................£2.50
Calls 50 .........50 minutes .................... £5.00
Text 5000 ......5000 Texts .................... £5
so if i topped up by £10 (receiving £30) and then spent £5 on the TEXT5000 bundle.
i would get 5000 texts and £25 for calls (250minutes) with the remaining balance???
is this true. and is there anything else out there that betters this deal.
if this is right then great as i have bought a £100 tesco grocery voucher for £75 which is redeemable for top ups aswell as groceries. so technically for next 10 months its only costing me £7.50 for 5000 texts and 250 minutes. anyone clarify before i start start spending my voucher and transwering my number over to tesco

Yes thats correct although i don't believe any free credit they give you can be used for bundles [I could be wrong though!] so aslong as you top up £10 and use the £10 for any bundles you want that should be fine.
Remember that the 'free' credit they give you only lasts for 30 days too.:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21
June: £43.15/July: £51.22/August: £90.60/September: £29.75/October: £284.07/November: £171.08/December: £29.220 -
when working or knowing anyone that works in a supermarket where phone top ups are available. using their/your/my staff discount to for instance get 10% off. then pay for the top up with a gift card found on ebay for a cheaper price.
worked great for me.
£10 top up (10% staff discount) (25% cheaper then value giftcard)
this meant my £10 top up only cost me £6.75.
i still know some people at supermarket so i will ask them to do me a favour if tesco mobile deal actually works.. 5000texts/250mins for £6.75 definetly worth it once verified its a do-able deal.
thanks morrisonemployee.. do you know if the extra £20 is awarded instantly. so i could then use £5 of original top-up leaving me £25 (£5 real money £20 bonus) or is it one of those. we will give you £20 the following month deals0 -
I can be wrong, but I don't think that you can use the credit on buying bundles.
You just use it on paying their standard charges for calls, texts, data etc.: http://phone-shop.tesco.com/tesco-mobile/help-and-support/call-charges-payg-freecredit.aspx0 -

I think is applied within 48 hours - You certainly don't have to wait to the following month to get the free credit.
Another thing to remember is that if you top up on say the 1st of the month with £10 you will receive £20 free credit however if you top up a week later with £15 you won't receive any further free credit as its only applied on the first top up of the month that you make.:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

ok i found the terms and conditions.. a nice long read..
ok so as i read it. if may 1st i topped up by £10 i would recieve £20 bonus instantly. BUT the bundle will not commence until the monthly anniversary of opting in.
so basically may 1st i opt in to TEXT 5000 . i have £25 (for calls and texts at standard rates)
June 1st top up by £10 receive the £20 bonus and the TEXT5000 bundle making june the 5000 texts and £25 for calls
but still unclear if at first of month i can opt in to the call bundle 5 times with remaining top-up and bonus. or if i can only opt into one bundle or 2 (my original topup value)
would be great if i can opt into numerous bundles. ie top up £15(at first of month to maximise bonus and lastability).. receive £45 and buy 9 bundles 1x text 8x calls for 5000 texts and 400 minutes..
and with my savvi saving on purchasing the top up it only costing me £10.13..
by the way morrison employee whats your staff dicount and can you use it against phone top ups?

10% discount although once a month for the past few months we have had 15% discount days - And it can be used against top ups in certain stores at the moment - A new till system is being rolled out across the company and in stores that have the new system staff discount can be used against mobile top ups.:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

You cant use the free credit to buy bundles.;)0

ok so here is the full deal as i have now worked it out by contacting tesco and with your support.
register sim. if topped up by £10 SAME DAY the £20 bonus gets added instantly or if topped up on another day within 48 hours .
you can only use genuine top-up money for bundles. which if put on wont appear till the anniversary date.
so do text5000 and calls 50
first month you will be left with £20 credit which is 200 texts or 80 minutes call time.
night before the anniversary. top up is an addition £10 but you now receive the bundles.so thats 5000 texts and in total 130 minutes for £10....
works out kind of not worth it the first month but benefits appear the second month once you get into a system of topping up £10 night before the anniversary
for the textaholics out there that never put phone to ear its great because if you only do the text bundle and never spend the £5 remaining true topup this (£5 true topup) would move across to the second month..
so the first month you use the £20 bonus for texting 200 texts. then every 2 months, the night before the anniversary of topup/registrations you top up by £10
so £10 top up every 2 months for a text only phone with an additional £20 bonus credit every other month.. or after the 2end month nears its end just begin topping up by £5 EVERY month the night before anniversay for a text only service without any additional credit
seems to be a good deal if topped up using staff discount or discounted vouchers or both.
guess i will keep 2 phones on me. one as my texter phone using tesco sim and one for calls
hope your not confused0 -
Seems like a lot of messing about with anniversary dates, why don't you use Giffgaff, calls are 8p so would equate to your triple bonus on Tesco as their calls are 25p and you can get a text bundle for £5 for unlimited texts. I don't use them myself.0
