Firstly sorry if this is not the correct place to post this!:o A very long story which i won't bore you with but i have had an horrific 2 years with Halifax in which time my credit report has been totally trashed by them - I have finally managed to resolve the issue with Halifax admitting fault and paying what they believed i owed them and apologising!
However after all what i have gone through and the fact that i can't even switch bank accounts after what they have reported to my credit file [Even though they fully admitted it was an 'administration' error on their part] i know want to contact someone higher in the company such as the CEO to get some answers - Does anyone know how i would find an e-mail address to do this?
I have looked here - http://www.!!!!!!/ but was unable to find anything!
Thanks:)

Try the complaints procedure

Write there. If you aren't happy with the response, after their final letter or 8 weeks, you can complain to the FOS.0 -
Thank you so much for that:TAfter 2 years of going round in circles with them i really feel that i need to complain 'properly' now.
Thanks again!:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

Try not to be too wordy in the letter.
If you can state times you have had to phone up and go into a branch to sort things out state these in order (like a list) as they may offer compensation for financial loss.
And be polite - no-one likes an a***hole

Thanks for the advice - I now feel calm enough to progress this further now that essentially it has been sorted out - I'm not at the point of despair i was so it will now be easier to complain in a calm manner!:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

And, just for the record, the FOS complaints procedure, if you should need it later, can be found <here>.

You do know that if they've acknowledged an error you're entitled to have everything related to it expunged from your credit file? If they haven't already, Halifax need to get onto all the CRAs they report to and correct your file. This is a legal entitlement under the DPA.
Don't let them fob you off by directing you to the CRAs who will only allow you to put an almost useless "note" on your file. The errors must be corrected at the source by the reporting institution. If they don't do this for a known error then they are basically committing libel against you, with the potential for significant financial loss.
Once your credit file is cleaned up you should be good to go (assuming you have no other black marks).0 -

Thanks for that information! I even have a letter from them admitting fault - however they have told me there is nothing they can personally do regarding my credit file and have pointed me in the direction of Equifax and told me I need to contact them personally!
My credit file was fine before but has been totally trashed by them - I even struggled to renew my mobile contract - My credit file is only showing faults from Halifax and nothing else and when the issue was resolved I tried to switch bank accounts and was declined - I have just applied and been provisionally accepted for a Vanquis card to try and get my credit file repaired.:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

That's the standard response banks give to people who ask them about having late payment markers/defaults etc removed. Usually it is correct - you cannot change history, banks will not lie to CRAs about the their customer's account conduct. However, when there has been an error and the black marks relate to money that wasn't owed, or charges that should never have been levied, the situation is entirely different. You're not asking them to deceive the CRAs, you're asking them to set the record straight.0 -
Thanks for the information:)
I have tonight written my letter and look forward to their reply! Thanks again everyone:T:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21
