transfer between accounts, Halifax delay?

I have a Halifax reward current account and a Halifax reward savings account.
I needed to transfer money from the savings account to the Halifax reward current account to pay a bill and to make sure I had deposited £1000 in that account.
It has not appeared in the current account and I am sure I saw a quick message that it could take up to 48 hours.
Is this correct?
I wasn't paying attention:eek:
And yet transfers from the current account appear in the savings account instantly.

Halifax Faster Payments are unreliable. Sometimes it reverts to BACS for no apparent reason.
If you did it today you can cancel it in "pending payments" and try again via FP.0 -
Faster Payments or BACS have nothing to do with transfers between 2 Halifax accounts!
What type of savings account is it? It sounds like a Guaranteed Saver, which for some reason has a 48hr delay. If so, I recommend opening a new Web Saver Variable Reward which is 2.8% +0.2% with instant access0 -
Transfers from a Guaranteed Saver account as put into a queue, then processed manually. It may sometimes take longer than 48 hours. If you need the money sooner, then you will need to phone up or visit a branch.
This has nothing to do with BACS or Faster Payments, just the way the Guaranteed Saver is set up on Halifax's system.
BTW, do you know Halifax have a Web Saver Reward at 2.8%/3.0% that allows instant withdrawals to your current account?0 -
FYI if you make the transfer via Telephone Banking (0113 242 2229/ option 1/ option 1) it's normally instant or takes up to a maximum of two hours (or 10am the next working day if after 6pm). They can also cancel the requested transfer made via Online with the Online Helpdesk, to avoid the transfer going through twice. 48 hours only applies to the Online back office, not Telephone Banking.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0

I know that, however, I am getting 3% plus .2%. = 3.2% on my savings account.
As long as I know that it can take 48 hours, that is not a problem, I just thought that transfers between accounts was instant.
The only time I will need to transfer money, once everything is up and running, I just opened the accounts, is to make sure that £1000 goes into the reward current account every month. At least they gave me a free £1000 overdraft for 3 months.
I am organising my DDs so they are taken a couple of days after my pensions go in.0 -

Another thing, will anyone at Halifax know, or be concerned, if I access my account online more than once a day?0

Is that a Guaranteed Saver?
