Hi,
Me and my partner are going to Puerta Plata beginning of May for 2 weeks. A little confused about what currency to take Pesos or USA Dollar. We are aware that we need some USA dollars for tax's in and out of DM but other than that was thinking take Pesos if its easier and better.
From anyones expereince did you use pre paid cards? We are trying to avoid taking debit cards (just one credit card for emergencies). These pre paid cards look really good but not sure if in DM they will be accepted or if there are ATM's near hotels. We are staying in Riu Bachata. Or shall we just take all cash?

When i went Dom rep i took dollars.
Almost everywhere i went took dollars. All the trips I booked were paid for in $$$.
I stayed in the Playa Dorada of Puerto Plata. I did change maybe $100 into
Pesos for little bits and bobs. I did this at a bank in the complex.0
