Tesco/Asda Pricechecker Thread - part 5

Just been looking through the alcohol sections of Tesco.com and Asda.com and am quite surprised at how many items tesco have simply removed from their website! Today the 1 litre bottles of bacardi have simply vanished. Tesco used to list loads of Glenfiddich variants and actually sell loads but only 2 I think listed.

I bet these items just come back as N/A now despite the fact they do indeed do compare and have done on their pricechecker.

Tesco can't manage to do the honourable thing and just price match these products, but instead resort to underhand tactics yet again. I certainly wouldn't want to work for this shower!!

We got the Finest wiltshire bacon and it was an n/a - yummy though - there dtd is working, they'e getting us hooked on the good stuff!

The SA should be reminded that making such accusationns could land her and her employer in hot water! Tell her to put up or shut up and scan the voucher before she has to explain her actions to the store manager.

Don't worry about things not being on the Tesco website - it is only a problem if it isn't on ASDA. Although them removing stuff does make it harder for us to find the good deals I agree, grrr

Yes I thought about that one, as it would preferable to the one I quoted, but Asda's smoked bacon is an applewood smoke rather than Wiltshire. The unsmoked seemed more likely to me as the streaky seems to work (mentioned earlier in the thread) but I don't like streaky bacon.

Really? I've been doing this since almost the start and only buy if the item is listed on both websites. Perhaps I'm being too cautious!

I was particularly looking at the bacardi as Tesco have 'kindly' dropped the price of the smirnoff today
