But that's not really the whole story. The picture of the container is an OPEN container, which means that you should use within x months of opening. As long as you keep the unopened tubs in a dark cupboard away from sunlight they will last a good few years. this is because the protecting properties will break down on exposure to UV light and once opened is exposed to germs and contamination which also breaks down the product. Source: a research chemist friend.

I know this is true as I had not yet bought this year's sunblock when it was very hot and sunny a week or two ago. After a rummage in the cupboard I found a sachet of factor 20 (free with a mag) dated 2007(!). "Better than nothing" I thought, so applied to face and neck and rubbed what was left on my arms. After a day in the garden I could see exactly which bits my fingers had streakily managed to cover and which bits were bright pink! I was all stripey, but face and neck were fine.

see my updated post - cancerhelp says 2-3 years max, absolutely nothing over 5 years so say 37 bottles over 5 years is using 7.4 bottles a year, which with a big family is doable but otherwise quite a hard slog in this country at least!! there's other sun protection products in the offers so probably not worth getting so much of one thing unless you do want to share it. just because it stops you getting a bad bit of sunburn doesnt mean its blocking the uv radiation like it should be, so better safe than sorry as far as skin cancer is concerned!

if the price changes in tesco and you paid it and the price at asda has remained the same, historically you are usually ok. its when asda changes the price before theyve done the comparisson that it causes problems

    I think so aswell.
  • Just a note the 7up comes up as 2 for £2.60 on tesco, not on sel's. not on ss either so just buy 1

(still a dtd but not as big only £1.20 back on 2 btls for £3.58:mad:)

I think what amazes me is that asda hasnt used this opportunity to do some damage to tesco. If I was them I'd be looking at products that were on the compare list already and doing a rollback on them all for 2 weeks. more sales from the people still going to asda, and cash coming out of the coffers of Tesco. Someone posted that the store gets money sent from HO for each voucher but I cant see why HO would send the store money for a voucher. yes sales are up at the stopre, but ultimately the bottom line is down and i bet stores are more graded for their profitability than how much stuff they sell, profit or loss, otherwise everything would be on managers special! Wouldnt really make sense for HO to send money to a store from a budget either when surely all takings will be routed centrally as its not a franchise? I'd imagine there is a budget on the whole campaign though, thats a given. Imagine if asda slashed Bacardi to £10 (etc) and kept it in stock on their website! there'd be a run on tesco!
