  • why dont they employ young women ...

Edit: actually on second thoughts dont want them all calling management to check my vouchers

My local tescos seem to have mainly young women on the tills, I have been grilled a few times by them over "how did you get that much back" and "what have you bought". But its only when the get out the pen and paper and right down whats on my receipt that I realise that they are wanting to take advantage of the promotion as well. They are very friendly and quite polite.

    Hi
I tried to redeem a price check voucher today and was refused.
It was for £8.50 and one of the numbers is wrong.
    On the receipt it says
    **/**/11 **.38 5169 002 1004 5335
    Voucher says
    **/**/11 **.38 5169 002 001 5335

They were quite pleasant about it though and as it was absolutely heaving in there today
I just paid cash and said I would contact customer services.
I have e-mailed them and will see what they have to say.

NEVER EVER look at the wonderful spreadsheet or take any notice of the 'bargain DTD' items that are mentioned all over this forum !

Just to play devil's advocate, I'm not so sure - I mean, before I learned of the promotion (a couple of weeks ago) I would adjust my shopping list according to what was on offer in Tesco at the time, and yes, I would stockpile things while they were on BOGOF etc. Perhaps you could argue that having the spreadsheet (and HUGE thanks to those who created and maintaining it - you have been a godsend!) is providing an unfair advantage over Tesco, but, on the flipside of the coin, is it so much different from trying to glean the most from your penny by taking advantage of other promotions running?

Seeing as I'm not earning any clubcard points at the moment I just spent my last few clubcard vouchers on a reduced quick up pool and cover for my daughter.

Not really but a supervisor was called to inspect my £20 voucher. I was holding my breath, as my previous shop was just a tin of salmon and Finish dishwasher tablets for a total of £16.99 (£2 of which was a Finish coupon)

I was just waiting for them to ask how I had a £20 voucher for a £14 spend! Luckily they didn't.

I once had a voucher for £20 and there were only about 4 things on receipt. the SA said oh that' good you only bought a few things and got all this money back!!

All fair and well, but long may it last?, not really likely when there are those who put 7 shops through the till, one after another.

I don't think 7 shops in a row will have any real effect on when Tesco pull the scheme. Tesco can EASILY put a stop to such obvious T&C breaches and I'm amazed McD got away with it. His local store management must be bonkers! Its the rest of us who are chipping away a bit more quietly and who seem to be making an effort to hide our tracks that are the problem - its more difficult for Tesco to stop us.

Tesco have dug themselves a huge pit with this crazy scheme and its not going to be easy for them to backtrack without a huge loss of face. I suspect they will pick their time and hope to hide it amongst other more important news .

As I was paying for my shopping at the checkout, a lovely sa whispered to me to check my receipt on the Tesco website as Finish Tablets were giving back more than cost price and if there were any men in the house that some of the Lynx shower gel was the same :D
