Just been into local Tesco and had a £6 voucher (bought Thorntons egg for £6 and nothing else). Supervisor got real shirty.
"I'm sick of these. They're going to stop these soon, people fleecing Tesco." etc etc

No issue taking them before but seems they have started looking at the receipt in more detail and aren't happy when voucher is close to (or more than!) the original spend.

Any ideas for comebacks - I'm not a conforntational type so just said "Bought it last week, next day seen them half price in Asda. SO of course I was going to cash in. What's the problem?"
She wasn't happy, said she was 'onto people doing this'

Simply tell her to read the T&C and stop being such a jobsworth. It works for me.
I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.
    Updated 14/10/14 :A
  • Bit of a stupid question but when updating the SS are we submitting the date we get the item confirmed on or the day that they where paying the DTD for?

i've noticed form dtd shopping how caught up i get in the bogof's when i do a normal tesco shop! unlike asda that when they put things on offer they are normally less than half price  so you get sucked into getting an extra item free at tesco's even if you won't end up using it before the use by date

you'd think by the way some of them act that it is coming out of their wages  it must be soooo difficult for them to scan the voucher & put the amount on the screen :rotfl:

Just a warning if you are visiting Tesco today...... I have just come back and it was absolutely packed! I have never seen it so busy (on a par with Christmas!). Took me an hour to just get a few bits (at least 10 customers in each que!). On the plus side though, they took my DTD voucher with no problems ;) (and I wombled a large receipt on the way out :o)
