Could someone advise, is the spreadsheet set up to take possible forthcoming DTD's when price changes are made? Remember someone mentioned it, but didn't find a reply. TIA

Loads of price changes on Tuesday... I am compiling a list of possible DTD's and will post soon

    Tesco Price check site DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Anyone else have this problem?

that will be because i just inputted my 3000 receipts:D
just kidding worked fine for me just now, done and dusted:T

Please press the thanks button when someone has helped!
  • That is genuinely very interesting - I did not know that, wonder if it makes it LESS likely we will get vouchers? Who knows...

Anyway on topic, I am on holiday  so have been to (all Nottingham area) :

    Carlton
    Top Valley
    Bullwell
    Hucknall
    Mansfield
    - no problems but they generally checked with a supervisor

    Long Eaton
    Toton
    Beeston
    - no problems, all just followed correct procedure

So I have been lucky, so far, touch wood etc etc. I have however been struggling to find Nobilo and lamb racks - anyone in the area got any tips? :D

THANK YOU everyone for all your inputs, I love DTD and I love these threads... Biggest thanks also to the fabulous spreadsheet team :T

PS I generally now pick the "possible" trouts too - they have more of an idea of what they are doing, and the only comments I have had have been the interested kind!

I've visited all of those stores and had no problems. Not sure if you realise there is Ilkeston too, 10 mins from Bulwell.

I haven't seen any lamb racks at any of those stores, ever. They had Noblio in Bulwell or Top Valley tonight (can't remember which). Only a few bottles though and they were on the top shelf. They had the expensive lamb legs in Bulwell, as well as the half price ones - not sure if they would still work on DTD? No bacardi in Top Valley tonight, but they had lots at Bulwell.

hmm chorizo sausage never tried it whats it like?

may go to the tesco in ramsbottom as there are all posh up there and prob dont need to do dtd and thus will get no hassle maybe.
Chorizo is a spicy sausage with a lot of fat in it. Love it, but have to stop myself from buying it so often. If you fry it it reduces the amount of fat you'd eat, so then it's great for adding to sausage casseroles etc.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

i've got a £3 till spit off a £20 shop, I've done my shopping list which totals £21.05 at Tescos and £11.65 at Asda so a DTD of £18.80. So the till spit will reduce my cash spend to £18.05 which is slightly less than the DTD value, will that be ok or should I add something to bring my cash value higher than my DTD value?

it is - they'll be kept in a hidden area until the prices change and then published asap (probably in the middle of the night, the S/S team is a bit nocturnal!

Thankyou :) and to Londinium too.

Shall I just post the one I've found on here, or try to submit it on the spreadsheet update?

Update form is now set up for them - there is an option in the drop down, and complete the date with the expected price change date (hope that makes sense!)

Just thought I'd share my recipe for using up left over joints of meat, and some other DTD goodies.

Leftover roast meat (have tried with both pork & beef, lamb would be great too)
1/2-3/4 chorizo ring sliced (remove outer skin before slicing)
    1 onion chopped
    1 aubergine cubed
    2 courgettes sliced
    1 pepper
    2 x tins napolina tomatoes
    1 tin chick peas
    1 tsp cumin
    1 tsp tumeric
    pinch of ginger
    salt & pepper to taste

Heat 1 tbl spoon olive oil, add chopped onion, courgette, pepper and aubergine and fry for 5 mins.
Add spices, leftover roast & chorizo, and fry for another 5 mins.
Add tomatoes and chick peas, bring to boil then simmer for 30 mins.

And voila a lovely hearty spicy stew, which would be great for winter...lets hope the Price check is still running then!

Any particular reason you're skinning the Chorizo there's nothing wrong with the outer and once cooked there's difference
