Tesco/Asda Pricechecker Thread - part 5

Saw some Huggies babywipes in my tesco today but they just said Huggies and Pure on the front. As they didn't mention 'natural care' I didn't want to risk it.
Can someone confirm if these ARE the right ones, please?0 -
I have a confession to make.
I've just shopped at Asda and had some gorgeous mediterranean style haddock toppers. They were bloody lovely too. In my defence they were woopsied!
Go and stand in the corner with DTD hat (Dunce of The Day) on! And repeat 100 times 'I will not pay less for my shopping' :mad:0 -

I'm envious (not jealous) of all the people managing to get the rack of lamb and beef. Only done 2 dtd shops but not seen these in my local. I love lamb as well but can never afford it!
Oh well, enjoy it, you lucky people:)0 -
I have a rack of lamb to cook tonight...never done it before...i have some wild garlic to go with it that i found walking in the park with ds...does anyone know how i can cook the racks though? thank you
We had a discussion about this back in thread 3 or 4 I think and this is how I cook mine...
I got a £7 rack of lamb which was about 280g and that was just the right amount for me for my dinner and I'm a 13st male. So work out from that.
As for cooking it I cooked mine using the following method and it was bootiful! Very tender.
Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Let the lamb sit out of the fridge for about 10 mins to get to about room temp and dab it with kitchen roll to take away any excess moisture.
Pour a little sunflower oil on it and rub it all over it so it's got a coating of oil all over it and then salt and cracked pepper on it all over.
Get the frying pan on (with no oil in it) and put on the highest heat possible until very hot.
Stick the lamb in the frying pan and sear each side and end, just about 15secs on each raw area and once you've done that lightly wrap it in kitchen foil and stick it in the over for about 40 mins.
Very important about 5 mins before it's due to come out put an empty plate in the oven so when you bring the lamb out of the oven you put it on your heated plate and let it rest for about 6-8 mins before munching in - this lets the juices get absorbed back into the meat and is very juicy and tender.
This made it medium and if your weight of lamb is a little lighter or heavier you may have to adjust the oven time slightly.
Before everyone starts picking holes in my cooking method I'm in no way a good cook by any stretch of the imagination but I know how to make a good steak and using the same kind of method it made the lamb lovelyI was put on this earth to accomplish a certain amount of things, at this rate I may never die!0 -

I promise I'll be eating Tesco items tomorrow, and the day after, until Christmas I think. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
