It's a shame you didn't check here first, Nuttalls appear to work in their own little world devoid of consumer legislation.

To phone my bank and start a chargeback procedure, Then send a LBA to Nuttalls detailing they have 7 days to refund me or send me the ring...

When you file a chargeback, the card company will claw back the money from the business and temporarily reimburse you.

So all you need to do is send them a letter (out of courtersey rather than prcedure/requirement) stating you have filed a chargeback for XXX reasons.
  • Hi all,

Just a quick update from my phone for all that helped. I was in the process of writing an lba letter when i called my bank to start a chargeback. What do you know they did it over the phone immediately. Money will be back in my account within 48 hours!

So, Nuttalls of Chester look pretty dodgy based on the links above. Everyone name them and we'll improve the Google search ranking for this thread. Might warn off some future customers who google for information about their company.

The website is pretty iffy. They claim they have 150 years experience and started out as a high street shop. Yet they provide no details of this shop and the only addresses given are a PO Box and the registered address for the limited company.

Based on the number of recent reports on here of ordered items never arriving, the company may be in trouble.

So, avoid Nuttalls of Chester. :money:

OP - glad to hear your money is on its way back to you. :D

I am in desperate need of some advice so here goes,

I have decided to pop the question to my girlfriend of 5 years when I climb Kilimanjaro for charity in September.
Word of advice. Don't sign up on here with the same username as you have on Twitter and say you're going to propose to your girlfriend.

It wouldn't be too difficult for her (Kate) to find out - it wasn't difficult for me to find her name!

PS - I've just donated on your JustGiving page :)
  • Thanks for the donation, wondered who it was!

Never thought of it like that perhaps I best change it...

No worries. I had some money in my paypal from some recent ebay sales so I put it to good use.

Good luck, for both the climb and the proposal! :)

Have you had an update from Nuttalls regarding your order? (i.e have they noticed the money has been retracted?)
Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos
