as above.
dig two pits, (1m deep) one either side of the path, and dig 2 ft into each side to meet in the middle.
insert an old scaffold pole in there and back fill. feed your (armoured) cables into the pipe.
cheap as chips.Get some gorm.0 -
Guys
Great stuff. For info, I'm overhead currently: 2.5mm T&E on a support cable. Missus doesn't like it so it's got to go.
I didn't give the full story. The path surrounds the house, so at one side, it's grass, soft earth, and off down the garden to the garage, no probs. At the other side, the brick wall of the house. So I need to drill out from under the house floor, then tunnel under the path. That's if I don't just cut, break it up and fill.
I guess I could try hammering along iron bar out through a drilled hole in the wall, from under the floor. What I haven't assessed yet is the height difference between the under floor space and the path. I might end up having to excavate downwards under the floor first before I drill out.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -
No you didn't:....I didn't give the full story.

I wired my own house top to bottom and had it inspected, tested and signed off by an NIEC spark, with no corrective action required. He complimented me on the install and said he'd seen worse done by colleagues. The overhead line was already present from the previous owner and though shoddy I believe is actually legal, suitably fused and RCD'd. If not, it's going anyway.
Your post was unconstructive uninformed and frankly unwanted.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0
