    Cooo-y! Hello.

Well no more bouncing for the moment - it says to leave a day between so I am following that advice. I will use it later when watching Strictly Come Dancing I think.

I am really hungry at the moment - didn't have any breakfast as I wasn't hungry when I got up (which is unusual for me) so I thought I would save the ingredients and just had a tea on its own.

Now I am really getting hungry but don't want breakfast food......but what to have? I have £1 in my purse which won't get a lot over the road at the shop that's for sure.

I must go and forage and see what we have. I really fancy Boston Baked Bean! But may be missing the key ingredient.........baked beans. (I have a cupboard load full of Boston...:rotfl:)

Right I am off to forage.

No other news really in LA Land.

Oh...we got gas & electric bills in the other day and they were actually quite high for the quarter we'd just been through so I am going to have a concerted effort to cut back on electrical use especially which will obviously mean PC time too.

So if I am not posting as much - well I am sure you'll cope ;) - but my apologies, please don't think I am ignoring anyone.

But we'll see how my MSE withdrawal symptoms go shall we: ;)

Hi LA, I am suffering from high bills too, so am thinking I have to reduce my usage - I can't reduce the ironing or the hoovering any more than I am already, so I am afraid that the kettle and the laptop may need a daytime culling........

Did you manage to get any bouncing done this weekend??

    Evening all.

Yep I always check the meters...every time. And the last time I did a check, npower worked out the cheapest for the tariff we wanted (green) so I have stuck with them....however that's not to say it doesn't warrant another check soon, so I will have a look (via QuidCo of course!) at USwitch. Thanks taxi! :)

However I do think I use the PC a hell of a lot and also the washing machine.....I hate having washing in the basket and always aim for an empty basket as often as possible which is really silly - I need to address that.

I don't iron things...full stop! Fiancé irons his own work shirts every weekend and that's it, nothing else gets ironed as I buy things that don't need ironing or hang them on the line by legs or tails or whatever (sounds like I am machine washing various fluffy animals!) so that they are pretty much crease free.

I think our fridge/freezer is really energy inefficient but it's built in and if we replace it we'll probably have to replace the whole unit which is not a quick or cheap job. Well it wouldn't be would it?

We use mostly energy efficient light bulbs however there are three lights in the house with dimmer switches and when we've tried energy efficient light bulbs they go mad!

Does anyone know if you can get dimmer compatible energy saving ones now actually? Hmmm something to google methinks

Oh and our cooker is RUBBISH so that's definitely eating up more electricity. We try not to have stuff that needs oven baking now as it's appalling - takes 20 minutes to get to 200 degrees C then whatever it takes to cook it and the rings on top are cr ap too. (GRRRR actually I *really* want a better cooker!)

Hypno.....I bounced pretty much all the way through 'Strictly' last night!! :rotfl:

new babies are so lovely aren't they?....scottish power comes out cheapest for us...I pay £64 p/m in total for gas and electric in a 2 bed house and I use my washer and dryer ...hope you can work out whats using your electric
I heard the other week leaving a mobile phone charger plugged in uses 95% of the electric than it does when actuallly charging the phone!!!

The mobile phone charger stats are shocking.
I never leave them plugged in when they are not being used and we don't leave anything on stand by. I can't understand people who do - it's just sheer laziness.

I do think our leccy is high because of the oven, fridge, PC & washing machine.

    So nothing important then? :rotfl:

Well I can cut back on the PC (I will go off shortly) and I will try to do less washing/stop being so silly about it. We'll carry on with making dinners which only use the top rings where possible....and as for the fridge.....hmmm...not much we can do except turn the cold temperature up a bit but not too much as I don't want runny margarine!

Dimmer switch light bulbs if anyone else is interested. I think I will be ordering some of those after October pay day!
