House next door is private rent, landlord told us tenants are getting evicted tomorrow
Landlord is expecting everything to get nasty so has told us of this happening
Will the tenants know it is happening? they seem to be going on as normal and do not seem in my opinion aware of what will happen.
i have no idea of what happens with an eviction, I am off work tomorrow and do not know what to expect to be honest

Just keep well out of the way! Good of the landlord to give you advance warning.0

Assuming the LL has followed the correct procedure, there will have been a court hearing at which the tenants will have been, a deadline set, then a return to court when the tenants failed to leave by the court's deadline to request bailiffs. The tenants will know all about this so the bailiffs will come as no surprise. The police are likely to attend in case there is a breach of the peace (ie the tenants refuse to comply with court bailiffs' instructions.)
A very small minority of LLs do NOT do this, in which case maybe the LL is turning up (criminally) unannounced, with a few 'heavies', intending to forcibly eject them.0 -
G_M is right, they should be well-aware of the situation if it is a proper court bailiff eviction (which is the only way to do it). So if they are really not aware it may be an illegal eviction attempt. That's a criminal act.
So yes, stay out of the way in the first instance. If there is any trouble call the police. If it is an illegal eviction you may wish to call the police to report it as a crime, depending on how you feel about the tenants, the landlord and the whole situation. Or again you might just want to keep your head down. Let us know how it goes.0 -
thanks, for your replies I am quite worried about what will happen and hope it has been done through the courts so at least they will know what is happening0

I wouldnt be worried, why are you worried, just stay out of the way, in the kitchen, out in the back garden with a sandwich and a coffee.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

i am worried as they have kids who are on holiday and will be there when this is going on0

It's been a lovely day, surely there was SOME point you could have been outside and said to them "Lovely weather we're having, hope it's nice tomorrow as I hope to do some gardening.... are you doing anything nice tomorrow?"

You sound a very kind person, but really, it isn't your problem. As above, stay inside, keep calm and listen to some soothing music ...0

i have seen them and made general chit chat for a few minutes today and they didnt say anything and that is what made me wonder if they didnt know anything about it
I do plan on staying inside tomorrow and will make sure my own son is either in the house or well out of the way0
