Trampoline help - no lawn

I'd love to get a trampoline for my 10 year old.

I have a small flat paved area that would nicely fit an 8' trampoline and I've been googling but seem unable to get an answer to the following questions:

Is it possible to tether it down either on the ground or fix one part to the outside wall? And is this safe?
Trampolines seem to come with tethering kits that fix them into the grass but obviously this wouldn't work on a paved area.
Is tethering them really necessary?

Anyone in the same situation? Any solutions? Experiences?

Also, assuming I get a safety net, is it ok to put this on paved ground?

Thanks for any advice :)

Everyone around us seems to have a trampoline (including us) and I don't know anyone who has tethered it to their grass. My little niece's new trampoline sits on my mum's gravel.

Don't think i've ever seen one tethered but as long as you don't use it during a hurricane or on a slope then it should be ok!
Also a safety net is a must and more importantly as it's being used on paving slabs one that fastens properly, not one with velcro because as soon as someone falls on it it opens, may as well not bother with those types!
:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly :D

Oh yes the net is very important.

My trampoline just sits on gravel next to the grass, with a net around it.

I bought a trampoline last year and there was no tethering kit (I didn't know tethering kits even existed!). The trampoline is in the back garden, which is completely paved. As long as you secure the safety net, and make sure that you don't have more than one child on at a time, I wouldn't worry.

Thanks so much for all the replies! Very helpful.

pulliptears: Your garden looks fab. And I like that Gardening Man on the hill :)

I will get one but now don't know which one to buy!
Any brands to steer clear of?

I'd like to get one with a high weight limit so anyone can use it and saw these:

Haha, thank you. Gardening man is my poor long suffering other half who detests mowing that hill with a passion bless him.

Have to confess when I had mine (I think its a 10ft) I didn't look into it at all. A friend worked for Index catalogues and it was part of their leftover stock when it closed down. I was offered the trampoline, with enclosure for £50 so snapped his hand off without actually considering where I was going to put it...

OH was not impressed lol. That is the only place it could fit, and even now one side is raised with railway sleepers and its 'tied' with iron rods fired into the sandstone ground and cemented. If there was an apocalypse tomorrow that trampoline would still be there :rotfl:
