Just heard from my solicitor that my buyers mortgage company want me to put the attic back to it's orginial state...so take down plaster broads, take out eletrics etc & then they want the council to come and say it's ok! Anyone know what this cost approx and how long it could take??
Thanks again0 -
I'm surprised that storage (or lack of) doesn't affect the overall value. Having lived somewhere with no storage, understairs cupboards, airing cupboards and lofts all add value to me.0

Hi stacey
Is your freeholder the Council? If so then it's standard that the attic isn't included in the Lease. Your original solicitor really should have infomred you of this.
I know cause my brother has a leasehold 1st floor flat with the council and it's exactly the sameCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
