RBS Overdraft gone!

I've just gont to buy something online and card keeps getting refused, just been onto online banking and my overdraft has gone - as in it should be £1000 and I'm £148 overdrawn with no available funds. I checked earlier on my iphone app and it said £300 available at ATM. Is this just a glitch? is it happening to anyone else??

Thanks in advance.

Thanks I've just called Telephone banking and he said their systems are being updated for 30 mins and to call back. But I'm going to try to get some sleep now.

Although god knows how I'll manage that, will be awake all night worrying.

    Thanks

I would bare in mind overdrafts are repayable on demand.

Im sure there may be a simple answer to your concern it could be a glitch or maybe the overdraft has expired.

I would give them a call for your own peice of mind to get the right information.

Perhaps buying things on-line and on an overdraft at 2 o'clock in the morning is the real problem.
Try spending less and not rely on a permanent overdraft, then you will be able to sleep.

My overdraft is only because we've recently moved house so have had double bills going through. And I'd have rather of found out at 2am online rather than at the front of a supermarket queue or at the petrol station kiosk!

Anyway, I called 24 hours Telephone banking and they couldn't do anything, so not too sure of the point of them! I have to phone my branch this morning first thing, he did say that he wasn't sure why it had gone. But I've just tried to organise an overdraft online and it's refused me. So not expecting good news when I call in a bit.

Don't get paid for 2 weeks, and at the moment have no fuel in the car, no milk, no bread and struggling to sort meals. We normally go food shopping after all the bills have come out of the account.

RBS telephone banking is rubbish, they never can tell you anything. Can i ask if you are working or not (i assume you are if you have £1000 overdaraft), because if you arent the jobcentre can give you a crisis loan, i think its just for people recieveing benefits though.

I would have thought at least a certain amount of notice should be given. Or at least reduce to level where customer is not overdrawn and then a notice period before it is taken away.

Unfortunately there are too many half-wits out there who, on receipt of such a letter, will go straight out and spend every penny they can on their debit card.

I do see that point but I think reducing it to the current level overdrawn and then withdrawal of facility within a certain amount of time or as soon as balance goes into credit is fairer then just withdrawing it.

Meaning they would never be able to withdraw it in some cases where people don't pay in to bring into credit.
